Welcome Message from Generate 2016 Conference Chairs
BC's Clean Electricity Advantage
Dear friends and colleagues,
In a time of global turmoil, one of the few things that gathers consensus across the world is the need for sustainable development. With over 95% of British Columbia's regular electricity generated from renewables, other jurisdictions recognize BC as a thriving clean energy pioneer, with established social, environmental, and economic advantages shaped by key contributions from the private sector. As we celebrate the positive impacts clean energy brings to our region, we are also ready to widen our influence and to adapt to new challenges and opportunities that local and global markets pose to independent power production and our communities.
We invite you to join the dialogue with Clean Energy BC as we host our 14th annual conference, Generate 2016, and experience our exciting lineup of plenary sessions, exhibitions, short courses, field trips and networking opportunities. The event is a forum for discussion and engagement between our diverse community of Independent Power Producers, First Nations and government representatives, utilities, consultants, contractors and suppliers. Our sector is eager to have you actively participate in the path forward based on BC’s CLEAN ELECTRICITY ADVANTAGE.
We look forward to seeing you in November.
Ellen Bird, co-Chair Generate 2016. VP Sea Breeze Power Corp.
Lucas de Haro, co-Chair Generate 2016. CEO Sorgent.e Hydro Canada.
